👻 Ghostclip.dev

Copy. Share. Vanish.

Ghostclip.dev is an ephemeral shared clipboard designed to securely transfer text between any device or environment — no registration, no account, no data trail. All content is encrypted on the server using your own code as the encryption passphrase, and disappears automatically when the time-to-live you choose expires.

What is Ghostclip.dev for?

There are everyday situations where copying and pasting text between devices is difficult, impossible, or risky when using third-party services that store your data. Ghostclip.dev solves exactly those cases:

VDI and virtual desktop environments

Citrix, VMware Horizon, Microsoft RDP, Amazon WorkSpaces, Nutanix Frame… virtual desktop environments typically disable the system clipboard by corporate security policy. With Ghostclip.dev, you can prepare the text on your computer, open the clipboard from the virtual session's browser and retrieve it instantly — no special permissions or software installation needed.

Mobile to PC and PC to mobile

Need to transfer an address, a password, a verification code, or a text snippet from your phone to your computer? With Ghostclip.dev you don't need email, instant messaging, or cables. Open the clipboard on your phone, type or paste the text, and retrieve it from your PC in seconds.

Remote server consoles (IPMI, iDRAC, iLO, KVM)

When accessing a server console through IPMI, iDRAC, iLO, a KVM-over-IP or similar hardware management solution, there is no clipboard. Ghostclip.dev lets you prepare the text on your local machine and type it confidently from the remote console.

Game consoles and smart TVs

Entering an activation key, discount code, WiFi password, or URL on a PS5, Xbox Series, Nintendo Switch, or Smart TV is frustrating using the on-screen keyboard. Ghostclip.dev lets you open the clipboard from the device's browser and copy the text directly.

Shared computers, kiosks, and meeting rooms

Ghostclip.dev works directly from the browser — no installation, no login, no tracking cookies. Once the clipboard expires, no data remains stored anywhere.

AI assistants and agent-to-agent workflows

Ghostclip.dev works as secure shared memory between AI agents. Via the official MCP server, assistants like Claude, Cursor, Cline, or OpenClaw can create, read, and update encrypted clipboards directly from their conversations — no browser required. Common use cases: context transfer across sessions, private inter-agent communication, encrypted scratchpad in automations.

How does it work?

Security & privacy

Ghostclip.dev uses AES-256 encryption via Fernet with PBKDF2-HMAC-SHA256 key derivation (100,000 iterations). Your code is never stored on the server — only an irreversible SHA-256 hash is kept as an identifier. Without your code, the content is mathematically unrecoverable, even for service administrators.

Ghostclip.dev does not use tracking cookies and requires no authentication. IP addresses are stored temporarily and non-persistently solely to enforce usage limits and filter abusive behaviour.

⚠️ WARNING: If you lose your code, there is NO way to recover the data. There is no master password and no recovery option whatsoever. Keep your code somewhere safe.

The default limit is 128 KB of text, enough for long documents, scripts, or lengthy code snippets.

Can I use Ghostclip.dev with my AI assistant?

Yes. Ghostclip.dev provides a remote MCP (Model Context Protocol) server that lets Claude Desktop, Cursor, Cline, OpenClaw, and other compatible agents access encrypted clipboards directly from their conversations — no local install, just a URL and API key. See the connection guide to get started in under two minutes.
