Ghostclip.dev is an ephemeral shared clipboard designed to securely transfer text between any device or environment — no registration, no account, no data trail. All content is encrypted on the server using your own code as the encryption passphrase, and disappears automatically when the time-to-live you choose expires.

VDI and virtual desktop environments

Citrix, VMware Horizon, Microsoft RDP, Amazon WorkSpaces, Nutanix Frame… virtual desktop environments typically disable the system clipboard by corporate security policy. With Ghostclip.dev, you can prepare the text on your computer, open the clipboard from the virtual session's browser and retrieve it instantly — no special permissions or software installation needed.

Mobile to PC and PC to mobile

Need to transfer an address, a password, a verification code, or a text snippet from your phone to your computer? With Ghostclip.dev you don't need email, instant messaging, or cables. Open the clipboard on your phone, type or paste the text, and retrieve it from your PC in seconds.

Remote server consoles (IPMI, iDRAC, iLO, KVM)

How does it work?

• Choose a code of three or four words (letters a-z and digits 0-9, minimum 5 characters each) or generate a random one.
• Set the time-to-live (TTL): from 5 minutes to 24 hours.
• Optionally, define a maximum number of accesses. When that limit is reached, the clipboard is automatically deleted.
• The content you write is encrypted and stored on the server. Any device that knows the code can open it.
• When the TTL expires or the access limit is consumed, all data is permanently and irrecoverably deleted.

Security & privacy

Ghostclip.dev uses AES-256 encryption via Fernet with PBKDF2-HMAC-SHA256 key derivation (100,000 iterations). Your code is never stored on the server — only an irreversible SHA-256 hash is kept as an identifier. Without your code, the content is mathematically unrecoverable, even for service administrators.

Ghostclip.dev does not use tracking cookies and requires no authentication. IP addresses are stored temporarily and non-persistently solely to enforce usage limits and filter abusive behaviour.

⚠️ WARNING: If you lose your code, there is NO way to recover the data. There is no master password and no recovery option whatsoever. Keep your code somewhere safe.

Is it free?

Yes. Ghostclip.dev is a free service with no subscriptions. It may include advertising to help cover infrastructure costs.

Do I need to register?

No. There is no account system. You only need to remember (or write down) your clipboard code.

How much text can I store?

The default limit is 128 KB of text, enough for long documents, scripts, or lengthy code snippets.

Can I use Ghostclip.dev with my AI assistant?

Yes.
